Casa Algarvia - Family of 4 including 2 children - adults shared sirloin steak on a hot stone plus chicken piri-piri. Food
was fabulous! Well cooked and plenty of it - steak and chicken came with chips, salad and a large selection of garden veg.
Children really enjoyed their meals too. Whole meal including bottle of wine came to €51 - so great value also. Only minor
complaint was that we sat inside and it was quite warm after what had been a v. hot day...they did have an
air con unit going but it was having minimal effect. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
La Bella Vita - My family comprising my husband, 3 young daughters and my mother have just returned from Carvoeiro where
we stayed from 1 - 18 June '09. We dined in La Bella Vita on 6/7 occasions and took out a takeaway on 2 occasions. While in
Carvoeiro 2 years ago we discovered La Bella Vita on our 2nd last night and this restaurant was one of the reasons we returned
to this part of Carvoeiro! It is situated in Club Atlantico 3km from Carvoeiro town. The setting is lovely and the interior
decor is smart, bright and airy with an air of refinement. The food is of the highest standard you will find on the algarve
and the service is very professional. The menu is typically Italian with mixed antipasti, spicy bean soup, parma ham &
melon being just of few of the starters. Mains were delicious lamb chops served with exquisite vegetables, turbot with a
chanterelle sauce, napolitan fish stew, fillet steak as well as lovely fresh pasta and pizza dishes. Breads are served, then
a delicious amuse bouche "compliments of the chef" are served. This was different on every occasion we were there and was
quite substantial so starters were never needed. My children adored the margarita pizza with enormous prawns which was served
to them in the shape of a heart! Desserts included a beautifully presented fruit plate with homemade pistachio icecream,
tiramisu made without eggs which was light and delicous and pannacotta to name but a few. The prices are only slightly higher
than the regular local restaurants but the quality of food and service is so much higher. They make beautiful cocktails with
freshly squeezed juices and the wine list is reasonably priced. There is so much to say about this really fantastic restaurant
and I would highly recommend that you pay it a visit.
La Mona Lisa - We visited the La Mona Lisa early Saturday evening having booked a table earlier in the day. We wanted to
eat early evening as we were a family of 9 including 4 children with two under threes! We had a wonderful meal (can certainly
recommend the pizzas and creamy pasta) and all the children were well catered for. The staff were very friendly and helpful
so much so we went back for our last night! This was the only restaurant we used on our stay but we all wanted to visit it
again. My eldest grandchild informed me when we got home this is his favourite venue!!! Praise indeed !!!
Taste - My b'friend and I just came back from our holiday in Carvoeiro. We would highly recommend Taste to anyone looking
for great food and a place to have few drinks after dinner. If you like sea food you have to try their prawns as well as clams
in white wine. They have a lovely Mediterranean-style bar downstairs which has loads of comfy seats with many cushions.
A Vela - This may not look that special from the outside but the food delivered and the fantastic service from Antonia are
first class. We were a party of ten that so enjoyed the meal we went back again a few days later. The suckling pig is
excellent (check which days it is on and book it 24 hours in advance) and so are the fried prawns as a starter and the mixed
meat kebab as a main. Local fresh fish is always available as well. The staff go out of their way to make the meal enjoyable.
After we expressed mild disappointment that there was no chees on the menu at our frst visit they supplied a free cheese
platter for us all on our second visit!
