Lagos Lagos - Algarve Portugal

Lagos Resort, Algarve|Portugal

Welcome to the Lagos Guide Online which is dedicated to information about Lagos, whether it be for an up and coming holiday or for a holiday/permanent home.

Most people will either research a resort such as Lagos before booking their holiday plans or they will book the holiday and then search the internet to explore what the resort destinationa actually looks like. Lagos Guide Online is the place to do either.

Lagos is situated on the west side of the Algarve and is just over one hours drive from Faro airport.

Lagos is a quiet resort with both a historical and modern perspective. At the far end of the main promenade and the mouth of the estuary, stands the small fort steeped in history and open for public tours during the day at very reasonable prices. Conversely, at the opposite end of the resort, sits the newly built marina with rows of shops, cafés and small eateries. Lagos provides a little bit of both the new and the old.

A section of the town still stands partly behind the old castle walls and the town itself has row upon row of small streets and alleyways for you to wander up and down. These are home to wonderful restaurants and great bars along with plenty of shops which sell high quality jewelry, gifts, and traditional Portuguese goods and earthenware.

The Lagos beach, like the rest of the Algarve beach, is very pleasant and has a couple of beachside bars and restaurants popular in the summer with holiday makers and also water sports enthusiasts. (Lagos seems to be a haven for surfers due to the excellent waves.)
